Being on the computer all day keeps your attention in your head – in your left hemisphere and often there is a level of agitation and stress that goes with that. What is a quick way to balance your energy and bring your awareness back to your body? Eckart Tolle says a few times a day bring in gaps so that you are not dragged along by a mindstream of endless thoughts. One way is to hold out your hand and close your eyes. Ask yourself “Without opening my eyes, how do I know my right hand is still there?” That question draws your attention into your hand. Your attention will go from thinking to sensing. Gradually as you focus on different parts of your body, you will slow down your mind considerably and will create presence.
